The best sleeping position is usually the one you can hold comfortably for hours. Still, a few tweaks help many people with back and hip pain.
On your side
Place a pillow between your knees to keep your hips level, and choose a pillow that keeps your head in line with your spine.
On your back
A small pillow under the knees can ease pressure on the lower back.
On your stomach
This position often twists the neck. If you cannot sleep any other way, use a very thin pillow.
