You do not need a yoga mat or a free hour to give your body a break. These five movements take about two minutes in total and can be done at your desk.
1. Neck tilt
Sit tall and let one ear drift toward your shoulder. Hold for 20 seconds and switch sides. Keep the opposite shoulder relaxed.
2. Chest opener
Clasp your hands behind your back, lift them slightly and open your chest. Breathe slowly for five breaths.
3. Seated twist
Turn gently to one side, holding the back of your chair. Go only as far as feels comfortable.
4. Wrist and forearm stretch
Extend one arm, palm up, and use the other hand to pull the fingers back gently.
5. Stand and reset
Stand up, roll your shoulders back and walk to a window. A change of position matters more than any single stretch.
If a movement causes sharp pain, stop and let us know at your next visit.
