What it is
A spinal adjustment is a quick, controlled movement applied to a joint that has lost some of its natural motion. Your chiropractor uses their hands or a small instrument to guide the joint through its range. Many patients notice a feeling of looseness afterwards, and some hear a popping sound. The sound is gas moving in the joint fluid and is not a sign of how well the adjustment went.
Who it may help
Stiff, achy lower back or neck
Tension that builds after long hours at a desk
Joint restriction that follows a minor strain
What to expect
Your chiropractor will explain every step before you start, and you can ask for a pause at any time. Most visits take 20 minutes. Gentle, low-force options are always available if you prefer them.
Afterwards
You may feel pleasantly tired or slightly sore for a day, much like after exercise. We will suggest simple movements and a plan for the next visit.
